Adding solar panels to the roof of every house would reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints. Solar power reduces air pollution from coal power plants. Since solar panels convert light from the sun into heat and electricity, they require no source of any other types of fuel. Also, by avoiding traffic will lower the citizens' carbon footprint because being stuck in traffic wastes gas which creates carbon dioxide. Once, when my family and I were stuck in traffic, my father decided to exit the freeway because he realized he was wasting too much gas. Solar panels and avoiding traffic are two great ways in reducing carbon that goes into the air.
