Sustainable City

Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.

What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

Carpooling  and taking public transportation is good for the environment because it releases less CO2 in the atmosphere than using one vehicle for every person. Another way to improve the environment is to ride bikes instead of taking cars. Bikes can reduce your carbon footprint and are also a great and fun way to get exercise.

I completely agree with this. When people carpool it cuts down on lots of gas being used and is a more sustainable, and cheap way of getting around. People should look for carpools in there area to get to school, or even around town. Riding bikes is also another great option for getting around, when biking make sure you practice safe riding.

Additionally, I think it is important to take public transportation. If you are unable to carpool and your destination if too far to walk or bike to, busses are a good idea. Busses allow many people to get a ride and saves multiple trips in cars.

I agree with both of you. I do think that we should also consider public transportation as a good option because many people can ride together and reduce their carbon emissions as a whole

I completely agree this statement by my fellow classmate.  Carpooling cuts down the amount of harmful gases released into the atmosphere due to the higher person to car ratio.  Our earth will maintain its sustainability only if every single person contributes to this slow process of maintaining a livable climate.

Most of my carbon foot print was from transportation and I believe using more carpools and public transportation would help decrease. Another thing is walking somewhere even if it might seem a bit far, and it is also a good way to exercise without useing machines like a treadmill that need to be plugged in and use more energy. Walking somewhere helps you cut down your CO2  levels in multiple ways not just one!

This is Great I agree with all these statements but only if we could spread the word so that even more people can agree and take action.
