Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?
Sustainable City >
Our "Sustainable City"
To my point of view, it should be city with clean environment and kind people. It is important to understand, that the
first depends on the second. Only kind and understanding people can make "Sustainable City".
In my imagination it is a city with clean air, no pollution, no acid rains. People enjoy the fresh air . It is also a clean city ! No garbage in the streets , because people realize how dangerous to the land can be unprocessed waste. Everywhere should stand Garbage sorting. Recycling allows you to spend less new resources . It is important to remember that energy conservation - much better than most of its production.
I believe that someday people really understand the importance of maintaining a clean environment . And each of us will live in this "Sustainable City"!
Сan you say that your city is Sustainable City?
Yes it's a good text about that idea
A substantial proportion of the food being consumed in the city should be produced within the city itself or in the immediate surroundings. With an emphasis based on the growing of highly productive crops (staples), and the use of soil-quality preserving practices/erosion-reducing, and ideally some form of waste-compost/non-human-waste recycling.
I totally agree with you, the food should most definitely be grown in the city that people eat it in. That would be a great substantial way to reduce the carbon produced.
