Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

Urban Farming
A large issue in our society today is air pollution and the destruction of our rainforests. There could be a very easy way to reduce these things today. I feel a beneficial solution would be urban farming, or urban gardening. This simple procedure could help so many people worldwide. To begin all you have to do is set up gardening spots on the top of building (like apartments, office buildings, restaurants, etc.), and start planting flowers, vegetables, or fruit. This could dramatically change our society in extraordinary ways. First off, the people living in the building or working have an easy, organic, and local produce. The city is full of pollutions, and the vegetation's carbon air filtering could help dramatically! Secondly, the occupants of the buildings shouldn't have to shop as much for worldwide produce, lessening the need for imports from other countries, helping with the pollution caused from transportation. Lastly, less land will be needed to grow produce, so less of the rainforests will be removed. This will help with our carbon footprints and I hope that w e can spread awareness about Urban farming.
