Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?
Sustainable City >
Eco-City
If I were the planner for a city, I would ban all cars, and provide every resident with a bike and running shoes. Secondly I would create green spaces every block of the city for sunbathing, picnicking, playing with animals, etc. The city would get all of its energy from renewable energy resources such as hydroelectric, wind, and solar. I would also place composting bins throughout the city to recycle all food waste.
I agree with the green spaces idea, for decreasing pollution. Do you really think that we should ban cars all together? Maybe we can start using electric cars so that we can reduce the gas pollution.
I like your ideas about all of the physical activity and renewable resources but what about older people who cant walk or ride down the sidewalk and how big would the city be, what if someone needed to go to the hospital and it was on the other side of the city, how would they get there?
Yes, we should ban cars altogether Christina. And I didn't think of that Aidan, since my city will be new, there will be no old people, it will be a city for the young and prosperous. When you turn 60, you go live in the country.
I think your idea is pretty good but it is very difficult to carry out, the world needs the most of the things that appear in this poll. It is true that in the past, people hadn't those things and lived well too, but world had become accustomed to this things and they have become a need.
