Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Alexis: Mooresville, NC, USA (Age 16)
Hi, my name is Alexis, and I live in Mooresville, North Carolina. I am 16 years old, and my total carbon footprint is 21,338 kgs. My total is above the average for my region. The majority of my of my carbon footprint came from the transportation section. (12,542 kgs) When I saw my total, I was surprised. I though it would be about average, however, I didn't know that flying would have such a big impact to my overall. Also, I travel almost every weekend, which also increased my transportation section. I learned that I should start having better habits, which will help decrease my total footprint. Things that I need to start doing to decrease my carbon footprint is start recycling more, being better about turning off lights, and start carpooling more.
