A sustainable city should be using clean and renewable energy sources like solar, wind or hydro. An effective way to do this would be to install small solar panels on the roofs of buildings. These solar panels could help produce a small portion of the electricity used by the city. The same idea could be done with mini wind turbines scattered throughout the city. Another idea to help create a sustainable city is to grow gardens in small places throughout the city. An example of this could be having a garden on top of a mall to grow fresh produce for the restaurants inside the mall. This idea could also work for a school where a small garden could provide produce for cafeteria lunches.
