Sustainable City

Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.

What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

What do you consider a sustainable city?

I believe there are many aspects that go into the reality of a sustainable city. I think those aspects include but are not limited to, minimization of required inputs of energy, water and food, waste output of heat, air pollution, and water pollution. A sustainable city creates an enduring way of life across the four fields of ecology, economics, politics, and culture.

I completely agree. If there is going to any way of accomplishing this reality we need to really focus on minimizing the carbon footprint of each individual. Through this we would be cutting down on transportation, food, and purchases for everyone. The citizen so of this city would also have to be willing to change the way the city runs, environmentally and economically, to their everyday lives. This is the only realistic way to each the goal of a sustainable city.
