Sustainable City

Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.

What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

There are many ways in which a city can be sustainable. A key way is to drive less and walk and bike ride more. This city would not drive cars because they use too much carbon. Instead, they would ride bicycles. Also, this city would not use machines to make their items. Instead humans would make the products. Doing both of these things would make this city very sustainable and a place I would want to live in.

I strongly agree with what you're saying. I think americans tend to dismiss riding bikes as stupid or disruptive towards traffic. However, if more and more people started to ride bikes, it would substantially reduce the amount of manmade greenhouse gases.

I do think that driving less is better, but I don't think that completely eliminating the use of cars is unreasonable. You could instead encourage people to carpool in different ways. Like, offer other almost "rewards" instead of just a faster lane.
