If I am the mayor of a medium-sized city, I will make a policy regarding the usage of cars. I will not allow cars that run on gasoline to go on the road in the city. The only cars that can go on the road will be cars that use electricity as the energy source. All the public transportation in the city will be running on electricity. I will also make the road in the city have two bicycle lanes (this also applies to the highway). There will also be a time range for private cars to be allowed to go on the road. ( 7:00 - 10:00 in the morning and 5:00 to 8:00 in the evening) . If a private car is running on the road out of the time range there will be a penalty for that.  THe penalty money received would be given as a bonus to people who do not own a car in order to encourage more people to walk, ride a bicycle or take public transportation. All the electronics at home will run on solar power. If all the policies are ratified and put into effect, there will be low carbon emission into the air caused by burning of gasoline. According to a research from fuel economy, a gallon of  gasoline could produce 20 pounds of carbon dioxide into the air. The policy would prevent a massive amount of greenhouse gas pollute the air. The air quality in the city will be good. Despite the policy regarding transportation, I will also make sure there are a lot of trees planted in the city.

The city will have a blue sky with little gas pollution and also little light pollution( because all the appliances run on solar power). There will be a lot of green plants in the city as well. The city will be like a "botanical garden" and the people that live in the city will live long (on average). Because of little environmental pollution and daily exercise (walking or biking).
