Trees
Plant a tree! Trees save carbon dioxide as much as not producing carbon dioxide does. Over its lifetime, one tree can save up to 1 ton of carbon dioxide.
Following up, other benefits are that trees absorb rainwater which if not absorbed would need to be pumped through filtration that requires extra energy. Trees also absorb ozone which down on the ground is a negative greenhouse gas. The shade coming from a tree can save the same amount of energy as if 10 air conditioners need to run for 20 hours a day. Trees reduce your heating bill by providing windbreak.
