Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

Sustainable City
If I were to create a sustainable city I would focus on transportation, power generation, and material production. I would have the city build near a river or body of water. This way, its citizens could use the river for travel and as a natural resource. The city would be powered by water and wind turbines and solar power. However, I would use a green material to create these power sources, as they create a lot of pollution in production and destruction. As for material production, the city would not use plastic or other chemically created materials, as they too release a lot of pollution in production and destruction. I would also require for every roof to have a garden, known as a green roof. The California Academy of Science in San Francisco made their own green roof: http://landscapevoice.com/california-ac … reen-roof/. By including this in a community, people could grow their own food. Also, the plants would absorb the carbon dioxide that would inevitably be released.
