If I were to create a sustainable city I would focus on transportation, power generation, and material production. I would have the city build near a river or body of water. This way, its citizens could use the river for travel and as a natural resource. The city would be powered by water and wind turbines and solar power. However, I would use a green material to create these power sources, as they create a lot of pollution in production and destruction. As for material production, the city would not use plastic or other chemically created materials, as they too release a lot of pollution in production and destruction. I would also require for every roof to have a garden, known as a green roof. Also, the plants would absorb the carbon dioxide that would inevitably be released.
