In the world, cities make up over 70% of our carbon dioxide emissions. Cities also consume more than 2/3 of the world's energy. If I were to create a sustainable city, I would install solar panels on each roof top of all the buildings. I would also place the city near a river, to create a hydropower system for the cloudy seasons. By using hydropower, it will be easier to adjust the amount of water that powers the city based on the consumption. That way, there would not be excess energy. I would also make the showerheads electric, because electric showerheads only use energy when the water is flowing while the standard boiler uses a lot of energy to keep a certain amount of hot water at all times. I would also install more bike stands and encourage people to ride their bikes. I would also put in more rentable bike stands, for visitors who need a means of transportation or residents whose bike might have broken or malfunctioned. In addition, I think that there should also be bicycles with a pedicab so the injured or handicapped can get a ride. I think that some people woul d want to live here because for the most part, the city does not look as different from your average city. Most people aren't bothered by solar panels and hydropower. Some people would not be as fond of the electric showerheads at first, because from personal experience, they can be hard to try and use at first. People who don't know how to ride bikes, or have not ridden them in a city would probably be intimidated because the main mode of transportation is by bike.
