Hi, I’m Eyan from Mooresville, NC and I’m sixteen years old. I have a total carbon footprint of 20,622, that’s about average in my class and slightly above the average in my region which is 15,918. It is well above the global average of 3,791. Looking at the breakdown of my personal footprint, I realized that the majority of my footprint came from my transportation. I honestly wasn’t surprised by this since I travel quite a bit and there is always driving to be done around town. This experience only solidified my beliefs that my country, region, and school produce really high amounts of carbon. I just wasn’t surprised by my class results as well as my own results because the lifestyle we live makes it highly likely that we will produce an above average amount of carbon on the global scale and not as highly above the average amount in our region. What I have learned that will help me minimize my carbon footprint is that tI should try to make my transportation more efficient, wether that be through car pooling more or driving a more efficient car.

I also had a  carbon footprint that was average for my class, and very easily related to having a high transportation footprint because I also travel a lot not only around town but around the US and the world.

I also have high transportation and I think most people in this region do. Almost everyone drives everywhere they go. I think that our school footprint is so high because how much our school relies on technology.

Hey! Eyan! I'm from Mooresville also! Your carbon footprint total is the exact amount of my class and that is slightly above mine which is 18,302 . I agree with you completely in your post. I expect most people in my class to have high results because of the lifestyle most of live. But I'm glad we're all learning about this and will be able to be aware of our impact on the Earth. I hope after this a least some people will lower their footprint in some way. You can by trying to carpool more like you said or even riding your bike somewhere.
