Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

Creating a Sustainable City
The city would have lots of sidewalks, trees, and clean energy producers. Their would be a lot of solar panels on top of buildings and simple recycling programs that everyone could easily participate in. There would be green areas and affordable and effective public transportation. Carpooling and walking would be encouraged. Stores would cut back on their plastic bag usage and offer reusable bags instead. Items would have reused plastic as packaging and most things would be recyclable. There would be protected places for animals to live and for people to visit. There would be dog parks and trails for people to go hiking. This would make me want to live there because I would know that it was environmentally conscious and had good activities to participate in.
I agree... If we use buildings that are solar powered then we can reduce the amount of pollutants released because it is cleaner than the burning of fossil fuels. Also if we use alternative transportation options then we will release less gases out of our cars which will help to lessen global warming and air pollution.
Although I like your idea, I just can't picture something like that happening, I mean it is definitely possible but people would not be willing to do something like that. For example I know people who don't want to put trash into garbage containers simply because they're lazy.
