Here's your chance not just to be the mayor, but the original city planner as well! Imagine a medium sized city that would be developed with modern, low carbon transportation in mind, and other strategies to reduce the average citizens' carbon footprints.
What would that city look like? Would that make you more likely to want to live there?

Sustainable City
In my sustainable city, there would be a lot of change. Everyone would have to buy all their food from organic and local stores, and mostly from farmer's markets. Everyone would have to own a bike and helmet so that way more people would ride their bikes and walk instead of use cars. I would hope that more people would buy eco-friendly cars (like Teslas and Prius's). I would also hope that every building had to have solar panels on top of them. I would want people to start buying clothes more locally, so that way they are not shipped from countries that are very far away like China, Vietnam, and Thailand. This way, there would be less manual and unfair labor and less transportation necessary. I researched how far China was from California and it is a little less than 11,000 kilometers. That is just for one journey which means that we use so much fuel for airplanes and other ways of transportation to ship items to the US. I would also hope that more people would li ve more spread out, so there is not a big amount of concentrated CO2 in certain areas more than other areas, like big cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco.
