Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My total carbon footprint was 15,317 kgs.  I was surprised to see that I was under the average for someone in my region.  I was expecting to be above the average because my family all travels to Wisconsin usually at least once a year.  That drove up my transportation but I was still under average.  For the future I learned that I need to monitor my food intake better and eat more clean.

Thats good that you were able to stay under. Do you think that it would be higher if you flew to Wisconsin instead of driving?
