Hello, My name is Dylan Henry I am 16 years old, and from Mooresville Senior High School in Mooresville, North Carolina. My Carbon Footprint of 28,580 kgs was substantially higher than that of my surrounding region (15,918 kgs). The majority of my footprint came from my transportation index which was due to the fact of how many trips I went on this year. My results were close to what I expected considering how many long distance trips i took this year, so they were not very surprising. I learned that all of these trips added a very large amount of KGS to my total.
I can relate as I took many long distance trips last year also. Although I didn't realize just how much it added. It was quite staggering to me.
I can relate to an extent, but somehow transportation didn't impact my total KGS as much as many other people. I suppose this could be because I simply drove between here and New York, which isn't a great distance. Perhaps airplanes have a much larger impact, if you rode on any during your trips.
