My Carbon Footprint USA (50178 lb of CO₂ )
I hypothesized that my carbon footprint was going to be smaller than the average person in Florida, because I am a student who lives on her own and shares a house with two other young people. I am very conservative with electricity and I recycle (and make my roommates recycle.. I will literally dig in the trash can to recycle). When I received my carbon footprint result, I was shocked! It was 50,178 pounds of carbon dioxide in a year! WOW! The average person living in Flordia had a carbon footprint of 28,913 pounds of carbon dioxide. What was even more surprising to me was that my highest carbon dioxide output came from my home. I live in the city of Jacksonville and this link below showed me many ways that I can save electricity! (and save on my electric bill... which is essential to a starving college student...LOL)
