Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Dalton C Carbon Footprint

437723

My name is Dalton, I from Hillsborough, New Jersey, and I am 16 years old. My total carbon footprint is 10,861 kgs. My total carbon footprint is lower than my region and class averages and home added the most into my carbon footprint but transportation and food were almost equal to each other and home. I wasn’t expecting any category to be way different except for purchases. I didn’t expect my transportation to be higher than the others because I can’t drive yet. I wasn’t surprised about my data that they were all equal except for purchases. I think my carbon footprint will increase in the future because I will be able to drive everyday.
