Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Morgan H USA Reducing my Travels

Mholestin

After taking the carbon footprint questionnaire, I realized most of my problem was I travel to much. My family and I do take a lot of road trips, and that means we use a lot of gas and burn some rubber. What we would do is carpool with all of our family members so we only use one vehicle, or rent a big vehicle that everyone could fit into. We could also take a train or bus ride to where ever we are going. Or we could also rent more fuel efficient vehicle that is electric, and cut down on our gas/ oil usage. Another big change could be making sure our tires are properly inflated, most people don't realize that low tire air can reduce your mileage and make you use more gas.
