The amount of CO2 people emit into the atmosphere per year is often more than what is acceptable per human. In general, people can reduce their carbon footprint by changing every day habits. To reduce co2 that is reduced by transportation, working closer to the places you regularly go, carpooling, and driving cars with better gas mileage is helpful. To reduce it at home, turning lights off when you leave the room, taking shorter showers and turning water off when it's not currently in use are helpful. Also, eating locally grown and organic food can reduce one's co2 emissions.
