My Carbon Footprint
When I saw my carbon footprint results, I wasn't surprised to see that they were lower than the average person. What did surprise me, though, was how much electricity our family actually uses in our home. The amount of carbon we produce by simply keeping our lights on, charging our electronic devices, or using heat or air conditioning in our homes really shocked me. In our home, we emit almost 6200 kilograms of carbon. I had never thought of how much carbon our house actually produces, and I really want to change that. I feel that simply unplugging things from sockets or turning off our electronics when not in use can really help. I could also decrease my carbon footprint by turning off the lights, the fan, or the television when they’re not in use or not needed.
