Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Reducing my carbon footprint

tappe14

The largest category that took up most of m carbon footprint is travel. My favorite thing to do is go to the beach and I usually do that three or four times a week. My car doesn't get great gas mileage so I know thats causing a problem. There are two ways that I can reduce my traveling footprint. I can ride with my uncle out when he surfs so that we are car pooling. I will also be  moving to UNF in January so that will be closer to the beaching, reducing my drive time thus saving gas. While searching the web I found a few other ways to reduce my footprint. I can drive carefully and take it easy on the gas pedal and break. I can also ride my bike to school as much as possible so that the only time I am driving my truck is to work and the beach. http://www3.epa.gov/climatechange/wycd/road.html
