My overall footprint
Hello everyone, my name is Ariana and I am from sunny Florida in an area where tourism is prevalent! My personal carbon footprint in the transportation category was 7,098 kgs in comparison with the average in my region which is 3,447 kgs. In my area we do not have public transportation that is available for many times of the day. In the neighboring city, however, the public transportation is more widely used. I was also shocked to see that the food portion of my carbon footprint was higher than the average, because dairy products in my area is high. The milk is about $3 (US). My family and I eat a good portion of our meals at home, but they are not organic or locally grown because those items are significantly more expensive than the alternatives.
