Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint(USA)
Hello, my name is Aubri, I am 19 years old and I was born and raised in Florida. My Carbon Footprint is 10,001 kgs and in Florida the average is 13,115 kgs. My footprint did not surprise me because I always thought of myself as pretty conservative. My highest category was "transportation" in Florida everything is very spread out, which means walking everyone is not really an option. I would like to try to lower my transportaion footprint because of the impact it has on the environment. I found this article discussion the importance of lowering "transportation footprint". https://www.carbonfund.org/reduce
I think that it's great that your footprint is so low. Mine is higher but still low for my area which is pretty good. My highest category is also transportation which I hope to lower in the near future by car pooling and riding with friends more often.
Hey Aubri. My carbon footprint is pretty low for my region as well. I can understand why yours would come mostly from transportation, especially with places spread out. My footprint mostly comes from home. I hope to lower it by using less electricity and lowering the A/C in my house.
Hi Aubri my name is Brandon and I’m from North Carolina. Looking at your regions footprint compared to yours its almost 3,000 kilograms less, thats pretty good. My carbon footprint was 14,571 kilograms and my regions carbon footprint was 15,918 kilograms, so mine was just slightly lower. My highest category was also transportation, just like in Florida everything here is spread out too. I thought the article you linked was very informative, next time I drive I’ll try some of those tips like going a steady speed and not going over or under the speed limit. Another way I plan on lowering my carbon footprint is carpooling with others and with.
