My total footprint is 20,975 kgs of CO2 per year, compared to an average of 2,338 kgs for China. I produce 14,178kgs of CO2 in transportation per year, I produce 2,285kgs of CO2 at home per year, I produce 4,274kgs of CO2 on food per year and I produce 238kgs on purchasing per year. My carbon footprint is much higher than my hypothesis, so I think I need to make some changes in order to be more environmental friendly.

My carbon footprint was much higher than what I thought too. My transportation was the highest out of all of them, just like yours, which should be reduce by carpooling, using public transportation, such as buses, or simply riding a bike places.

Hey Jacky! My transportation was also my highest, with a footprint of 9,114 kg. Most of it in my region (in North Carolina, USA) came from home usage (6,149 kg). The average carbon footprint in my region was 15,918 kg. What was the average transportation footprint in China? What about the carbon footprint average for food in China? My total carbon footprint was just under that at 13,643. One environmental-friendly change you could consider is carpooling, walking, or riding your bike! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Jacky! My total footprint was 12,474 and in North Carolina it was 15,918! My transportation was 4,793 and my region was 4,184 which was the only section I went over on. So I am also making some changes to help my environment with transportation. Such as car pooling or finding a good fuel efficient car.

My carbon footprint was low for my region (USA, NC) but it was still higher than china's average. Mine was 5,462 kgs and the average is 15,918. I didn't think that my footprint was going to be so low in comparison but I don't travel and when I do its not that far from me. I don't think you have to change much besides for your transportation. I think it would help just by taking a car and not a plane if that was why your transportation was high.

My footprint was actually lower than the average of my region (North Carolina, USA)  , which surprised me. So, was transportation your highest? Why do you think that was? My transportation was low because I carpool a lot, plus most places that I travel to are near my house. Do you travel a lot? Maybe to reduce your footprint, you could carpool, walk, or bike. Keep making steps to lower it!

I think that we both travel a lot, and possibly we aren't traveling in the most efficient way possible. We could both work towards making reductions in how much we travel, and try to travel more efficiently!

My footprint was also higher than average and it was highest for transportation. I suppose the transportation could be cut down with something such as carpooling with friends or walking/riding a bike for shorter distances.

The average carbon footprint for my region in North Carolina is 15,918 kilograms which is lower than my footprint of 16,162 kilograms. It is interesting to me that the average of China is so lower than the world average only reaching 2,338 kilograms when a lot of places I looked at in the United States is so much higher. I also noticed that transportation made up a lot of my carbon footprint and that some changed should be made in the way I get around and the amount of vacations I should take to reduce my carbon footprint.

Hey Jacky C! I'm Jonathan! My total carbon footprint is almost half the amount of yours at 11,665. The big difference for this is the transportation which is a lot higher than mine. Besides that however we are similar in the other categories.

Hi, Jacky! I think it is quite interesting how both of our transportation production per year ended up being the majority of our total carbon footprint! Compared to the United States, China's carbon footprint is a lot lower. I wonder why there is such a vast difference between the two! I agree with you about your statement regarding becoming more environmental friendly. I think everyone can say that we need to make some sort of change whether it is small or large to become more environmental friendly. Great post!

Hello Jacky! My carbon footprint was actually very different from yours with my transportation portion contributing to 704 kgs. The highest contributor to my carbon footprint was my home costs at 7375 kgs out of 10,485 kgs of my total. I tend to stay at home very often and I am not always the best at regulating the temperature of my home. I also rarely recycle the things that I use such as saran wrap and milk jugs. I will try to reduce my carbon footprint by recycling more often and turning off my AC when I do not need it.
