My Carbon Footprint(US)
My name is Kathryn and I am 16 years old. I live in Mooresville, North Carolina in the United States of America. My carbon footprint was higher than the average for the world and slightly higher than the average for my country. The majority of my carbon footprint came from transportation as it is hard to walk places where I live and I rarely use public transportation. I wasn’t very surprised about my carbon footprint considering I live in a developed nation and we use the majority of the worlds resources. However, I was surprised that my transportation was much higher than everything else. It was more than 12 times higher than my purchases and heavily skewed the data. I learned that we should be more conscious about how we are using our resources and the way we transport people and things. In the future I plan to reduce my carbon footprint by carpooling with others in my area to get to school functions and becoming more aware of how I am using the resources I am given.
