Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint

ChaseO

My name is Chase Overcash. I am a 16 year old Junior from Mooresville High School in Mooresville, North Carolina (United States).  My carbon footprint is around 20000kg, which is above average (even for the United States) from the data I have collected. The majority of my consumption is from transportation, which makes sense because I live in a rural/suburban area. The results I got are similar to what I would expect because I predicted, living in the US that I would have a higher consumption that other countries. In ordedr to cut back the best thing for me to do is to slow down my consumption of has by not taking as many unnecessary driving trips.
