I'm from Iceland

In Iceland most of our houses are heated electricity and geothermal energy, in most of the new houses in Iceland we use geothermal water to heat our floors. In Iceland you can take a shower for as long as you want and no one will give a f***. Because we already have more than we need. What about you?

Where i live in California there is a drought, so we are all conserving water, and in some places you may receive a fine for using it unnecessarily. Only 1% of Earth's water is usable and the rest is salt or stored in glaciers. As the glaciers are melting we can't use that water either because it is sliding into the oceans. So we have limited amounts of water on Earth, in the sense that it is a nonrenewable source and that you can't make more. As you use the water in the toilet it goes down the drain and it can not be used again. So if everyone is using water willy-nilly then it all adds up. Some places are fortunate that they have plants that take the toilet water and filter it with UV light to be used as a sanctuary marsh for animals.

If everyone on Earth knew that we have the water that we will have forever then people might appreciate it more and use less. But I don't think that will happen anytime soon. It shouldn't be about saving it,but you should think of it as having enough water to fit our future needs. Water conservation starts with YOU! You might not think  your long showers mean a lot, but they all add up. And if everyone where to take long showers there won't be enough for the future generations of man. And yes some does go and evaporate into the sky, but the sky isn't a reliable source as the availability changes with weather conditions. IT ALL ADDS UP PEOPLE:)
