Energy and Carbon

AnnaB18

In one study by the EPA, electricity makes up 32% of total greenhouse gas emissions, and transportation makes up 28%. The other 50% is made up of agricultural, industry, and residential. I was very surprised that electricity made up the most, I would've thought transportation would be more. There are several things we can do to lower the carbon emissions of electricity, which are highly necessary nowadays. We can use more renewable energy like solar, hydro, and geothermal. Energy from fossil fuels can be replaced by nuclear energy. Also, scientists could strive to improve efficiency of energy in homes and businesses. EnergyStar products saved the energy equivalent of 45 power plants and saved $20 dollars in the users’ energy bills!

I think that humans everywhere should realize the impending trouble that we are causing ourselves, and I think that everyone should try to make the world as good as it could be. With everyone working for a common goal, we could accomplish so much!
