Phantom Energy
Lots of electronics draw power even when they're not in use and when they're off if they're still plugged into an outlet. This is called phantom energy. Between chargers for various items, televisions and even other things like computer monitors, your phantom energy can accumulate to a lot over time. This energy can be 10% of a house's electricity use. That doesn't seem like a lot, but if that's the case in a lot of houses around the world it can add up to a ton of energy that isn't used for anything. We should unplug things when we aren't using them. The little things that don't need to be plugged in every hour of every day, like our cellphone chargers. Save energy, unplug.http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/ev … rgy-by.htm
