Carpooling's Positive Effects

ninaerquiaga

I think that carpooling is a great way to get around that is fun, and good for the environment. Until recently, I was in a carpool since 6th grade. Every day, I would ride in a carpool, with more than 3 other kids, to and from school. I would then ride in a different carpool to and from soccer practice after school. Now that I have my own car, I am no longer in a carpool, however, once I have had my license for a year, I plan on starting my own. After doing some research, I found that the city that I live in, Alameda, saved 74 mt of CO2 this week, just by carpooling. This is approximately 155,000 miles saved. Research has also found that carpooling saves America around 1.1 billion dollars every year. This is equivalent to 85 million gallons of gas that is also saved each year by carpooling. Therefore, research shows that carpooling is a much more efficient and cheaper solution than driving by yourself. Do you carpool? If not, are you more inclined to start carpooling after hearing how positively carpooling affects our environment?

Hi I am Bryce from the United states also, I think carpooling is a great idea and one of the most efficient ideas that really isn't that hard. If even just a small amount of carpooled we would help the environment more and also have a longer supply of gas. So great idea and great way to get people to help the environment.
