Human Population Growth

Shadowpath-P

One topic I find particularly interesting is human population growth and its effect on the earth. Our population has grown exponentially since advancements in industrialization, technology, and medicine have occurred, as shown in this graph. [Human Pop Growth Graph](//muut.com/u/footprint/s1/:footprint:QOhu:humanpopgrowthgraph.jpg.jpg) Our population is ever increasing, which can be seen when viewing age structure diagrams. Any country with a larger young population than old has an increasing population, and the greater the difference, the more drastic the increase. I believe our monumental numbers are heavily contributing to ecological harm. With limited resources and space, and some countries already overflowing, we humans are putting a lot of stress on the environment. Clearly, if the population keeps growing like it is, our situation will only get worse. Therefore, I think we really need to decrease population growth if we want to survive.  We are bound to hit earth's carrying capacity soon, that is, if we haven't already. What do you think the earth's carrying capacity is? Or have we already hit it or even exce eded it?
