Currently the biggest challenge facing real change in environmental ontology  is ignorance. It's not necessarily that people are unwilling to play the part in preserving the environment, its that they are unaware that there is a part to be played.  I am fortunate enough to live in a region that has a high awareness for natural resources and the environment. However, not everywhere has the same level of exposer. In discussion of environmentalism with my brother, in college, he explained that many of the people who attend his college are from regions were they have little to no education or exposure to environmentalism theory. One Girl he met claimed that she never recycled because it was a hoax. Progressing forward the most important area for us to focus on is continuing the education and increasing awareness of the environment and our role affecting it.
