The Dangers of Bio fuels
Cars can run on different fuels. Some fuels are partly made of bio fuels. According to Dr. Ian D. Clark, an earth sciences professor at University of Ottawa, Bio fuels are bad for the environment. They require a lot of fertilizer which go to streams and end up in the ocean. Fertilizers promote the growth of organisms such as algae which results in the decrease of oxygen which creates a dead zone where no fish or amphibians can live. It takes away their habitat. We as a population should do something about this. People should start trying to use more gas efficient cars or, if they can afford them, electric cars. Another alternative is to walk or bike places. Many people have started driving places that are only a few blocks away. I'm not suggesting you walk everywhere, there are many places that are much too far to walk to, but try and make an effort to leave a bit earlier so you can start walking places instead of using bio fuels.
I agree with your post. Most people think they are going to reduce greenhouse gases by using biofuels, but in reality, using biofuels can still cause harm. In addition to what you said, the fertilizers used can cause soil erosion. Soil erosion could then cause desertification. Another way that biofuels cause harm is by its production. The production of some biofuels like corn ethanol can consume the amount of fossil fuels that the biofuel would replace.

I agree and disagree with your post, Bella. I didn't know that bio fuels can harm the environment until I read your post. I did some research and found out that bio fuels also require lots land to produce the crops that create bio fuels which could lead to deforestation, affecting the forests and ecosystems that include many trees. But then I read a post from Logan U. yesterday and she said that United Airlines is starting use bio fuels to fuel their airplanes. Bio fuels' contribution to climate change is lower than fossil fuels. So, I don't disagree with you on your perspective, but then I don't entirely agree with you either.
The best way to help the ecosystem is walking and riding bycicle but its not always available
