Solar PV cells, Water Use, and Harmful Materials

akmcm

I just read recently about the environmental impacts that Solar PV cells have with water and harmful materials. Solar PV cells are the objects that generate electricity for solar panels. Inside the cells are concentrating solar thermal plants. Water is used to power both the individual objects and as a whole. However, this system takes in big amounts of water.  This solar panel system is very common around the UnIted States. Since the United States is in a current drought, the water usage of these panels is too much. We need to figure out a way to reduce the amount of water consumption for these systems. Solar Pv cells also produce harmful chemicals when they are manufactured. Hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrogen fluoride, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, and acetone are some of the harmful and hazardous materials. There needs to be an adjustment in the systems of these PV cells because the extreme chemicals and water consumption can be detrimental to hum ans and our planet.
