water
Clean freshwater is an essential for a healthy human life, but 1.1 billion people lack access to water and 2.4 billion don’t have adequate sanitation. Water becomes polluted from toxic substances or washed into streams and waterways and the discharge of sewage and industrial waste.
These pollutants come in many forms:
organic, inorganic, even radioactive and can make life difficult, if not impossible, for example for humans, animals and other organisms alike.
Can anyone tell me if they are carrying improvements from this point of view ?
I agree that water is a big problem in our society and it will effect our environmental future. A large amount of energy is used to treat, supply and use water. I believe all that is tied to climate change and global warming. Saving water is extremely important to reduce the carbon footprint. This is also affecting the state of California among many other places. According to The River Network, statewide (California) water savings for July 2016 was 20 percent (47.3 billion gallons), down from July 2015’s 31.3 percent statewide savings (74.9 billion gallons). This is a huge decrease in the water savings and has a negative impact on our state.
There are a lot of CO2 emissions, from conventional and advanced water treatment plants. Clean water is hard to get and many individuals take it for granted. There are easy ways to save water and reduce our carbon footprint. For example, reducing your shower time. In California, an average shower time uses up 27.5 gallons of water. Cutting your shower time by half can help reduce many CO2 emissions and potentially help our entire pl anet. Other things that any individual can do is turn off the water while brushing your teeth and more major things such as special toilet systems that recycle water rather than using purified water.
Another thing anyone can do to help save water and reduce our carbon footprint is spread awareness. Telling others about the dangers that our planet is facing, such as climate change and Global Warming, can have a major impact. Many people do not view this as an issue because they believe that not many people care about things like saving water. The truth is, an individual can cause change and by getting others involved, we can all stand together and fight the CO2 in our atmosphere.
