Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Hello very much. I am a little boy from Iceland and I would like to know more.
Hello! I live in Iceland, where it's really cold in the winter and not really that much hotter in the summer. I am in the high school on Laugarvatn and we were 15 who took the challenge. My score was 6229 kg of CO2 per year. I would say my score was pretty average compared to my classmates. My score was low compared to the average Icelander, which is 7883 kg of CO2 per year. I would totally like to hear your thoughts

Yes I can help u!!
Yay! Thanks!
Are you suprised by the fact that your footprint was low comapred to the average Icelander? What do you think are the reason for that? ![]()
Hello KristinnHrafnsson, my name is Kristy, I live in the United States and am currently in college. It's great to hear that your footprint is so low! What did you score highest in? I would look to reduce that score first. You might not be able to reduce the heating, Iceland is freezing and I can understand wanting to stay warm.
Try looking at this website when you have a chance: www.ecomall.com/…/20things.htm
It has some useful information on lowering energy use and the list if filled with simple, everyone can do it, material. I hope that helps.
@Aleksandra O Yeah, I was actually quite surprised! I am not sure, it might be because I don't own a car yet.
@kzpede Thank you:) I scored highest in the food section which was 3621 kg per year.
Its great that yours was low. Mine was as well though something's were higher then others. I think its good that some people aren't putting as much in the air though some put way more then they need to
No problem.
This website gives some good information: http://www.moneywise.co.uk/cut-your-cos … -food-bill
Even though it is a money saving website on grocery shopping, they offer some cool ideas on limiting food intake.
I live in the United States! I thought my footprint would be about average for my region, but it was much higher! I scored very high in transportation, 12,416 kg. The only thing I can think of is that I took so many car rides to different states and used a lot of gas! It's great that yours was average! What do you do to keep it so low?
your footprint total , is very low . thats great .
You were very good on your footprint you didn't waste any energy or resources it was pretty low.
I think that that is very good that your carbon footprint was lower than the average person in your region and what your doing to keep it low is good, keep up the hard work!.
