Education and Climate Change

A large problem in how the world can prevent climate change is that most do not know enough about it. To kids in Texas, it is being proposed as a small topic, that they do not need to worry much about. When information about climate change is being taught as a little issue that “doesn’t matter” it is harder to convince people to make changes to their lifestyle. The gravity of climate change is not being weighed as it should, the future is being ignored. Laws in states of America are trying to fix issues like this, but are being denied. Bills that do help children become knowledgeable about this topic are being attempted to be taken down too. In 2014 the bill of "Balanced Treatment for Creation-Science and Evolution-Science Act" of 1981 was attempted to be taken down. The importance of teaching science is being taken down. New bills in Hawaii, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, and more are being denied by anti-evolutionist counteracts.
A help to prevent climate change would be to better educate kids on how important it is to take action in helping their environment. Know ing where their future would be going would better convince them to try and change it. Science Education bills being allowed to pass would help open more minds. With this, more people could change their lifestyles by reducing transportation and house emissions. More motivation would be created if people were more educated. A lot of people today believe it is something false too, but data shows that the earth is changing at faster rate than ever before and if they saw this information, they might start to agree and conform to a better lifestyle.

I completely agree! If the subject of climate change was taught to children at a young age, then maybe the kids will be more aware of what humanity is doing to the earth. Also, climate change should be taught to adults who never received the correct education of it. Maybe some Congressmen and Congresswomen would change their viewpoints and help to get bills and laws passed in favor of cleaner and greener energy methods.

I totally agree with your reasoning - a lot of people don't believe in climate change because they either have never been educated about it or they were taught the wrong information. Education is a huge part of whether or not someone believes in climate change, and I think education correlates with American demographics as well. While in Texas, like you mentioned, climate change may be considered minor or not a priority compared to other issues, in other places such as California, global warming and climate change is an extremely hot topic and many people are aware of it and trying to fight it by changing their lifestyle such as what they eat and their transportation methods. I think that educating not only kids in school, but also adults as well about our changing climate and implementing lifestyle changes would be the most effective way to combat global warming, because even if everyone changed their lifestyles slightly, it would all add up to a huge difference.
