Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Good Afternoon. My name is Juan Luis Zepeda writing from Guatemala. I just wanted to introduce the problem of carbon footprints about transportation. Many of you (I think) got a very high carbon usage. Why? Every day all of us have to do something. Students go to school 5 days a week either on a bus or a car. Adults have to to their jobs. All the people going to different places. Just seeing that there are about 1.015 billion motor vehicles around the world. How much damage can that make to the environment? Imagine a day, just a single day were most people can ride their bikes, there is a big difference and how about every day?
