Electric cars

maddyemmas

I think everyone should buy electric cars because they are better for the environment than internal combustion like engine cars burning gasoline, as some electricity is renewably generated (wind, solar, hydro, etc). It helps the environment because electric vehicles have zero emissions. The only pollution that can be caused by electric vehicles is the pollution created by utility companies to make the electricity this is still a lot less then when using a gasoline car.

Electric cars are a great solution to decrease carbon emissions. However, there are some problems with electric cars that would probably cause consumers not to want to buy them. First of all, electric cars have to be charged throughout the night (and occasionally in the daytime) and are really expensive for your electric bill. Electric cars also can't travel as far and as efficiently as cars that use gasoline as fuel. I think electric cars are a fantastic solution, but they are inconvenient enough that I don't think consumers would buy them.

I think electric cars are a great alternative, but as Lena was saying they do add a lot of money to your electric bill and could run out of energy during the day.   Also, the big thing about electric cars is that they aren't stylish enough. How would you sell a person with a big taste for cars an electric car Maddy?

lenaanderson

That is true. As great of an option as electric cars are, they just don't appeal to the customer because they're inconvenient, expensive, and often not stylish enough. A lot of consumers care about how a car looks, but electric cars are built to be practical, not beautiful.

Electric cars are great, they don't have emission, pollution rates are a lot less than regular cars, but I can agree with what everyone else is saying, they are costly but in the end it benefits our environment which will benefit us.

Dear Maddy, Dear all,
My father in actually using a fully electric car and in our country (Switzerland) we have the possibility to buy electricity exclusively produce with the sun. Everything seems good; I ask myself however if the productions of the batteries is safe for the environment. I read some contradictory news about it and I have some difficulties in understanding where is the truth. Can you help me?
Best from a rainy day

Good idea! I used to have an electric car, but now we primarily use a diesel truck, which increases our footprint by way too much. Should probably stop driving the truck around so much.

I think that electric cars are totally better than gas powered cars but, as some of you have mentioned, they are expensive and can sometimes be inconvenient as they have to charge and you cant just pull up at a gas station to get going again. They may not be that aesthetically pleasing, but I think that can be easily fixed. Despite this, they are definitely better for the environment.

I think that electric cars would be a great solution for the next future, because now the e-cars are not the best choice jet (because of the low battery charge, because of the high cost,...).
I have also thought that the e-cars are for real zero CO2 emission,  but I have asked me if they are also zero emission when the e-cars are produced. I mean...e-cars are probably a good idea, but if their production bring lot of CO2 in the atmosphere are they for real a good solution?

Probably the emission emitted in the atmosphere are the same as the factories that produce cars everyday. The fact is that the government should encourage the production of e-cars.
