Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My name is Leandria. My total footprint is 13,548kg of CO2 per year compared to an average of 13,126. My carbon footprint is higher than the average because I am guilty of not recycling. The average for my home is 8,023kgs compared to an average of 5,065. The average for transportation is 3,222kgs compared to an average of 3,447kgs. The average for Food is 1,986kgs compared to 2,996kg. I will start recycling. I am going to call the city of Jacksonville and request for a recycling bin.
I think that will work and the data of your home will become more closer to the average.
Hey there! I am Kaya and I'm 17 years old. I live in North Carolina. I am surprised that your Carbon Footprint is higher than the average in your area, because I think you may be less than the Carbon Footprint for my area (NC). I think that you could do even more than just ask for recycling bins for yourself. It would be cool if you could get the city to distribute more recycling bins to raise awareness to other people as well!
Hey! Your footprint is not bad at all. You are very close to the average and you are below on your transportation. When you start to recycle you will get a better average for home. Good luck!
In your describe your carbon footprint is kind of same to the average, but it is not some of them is higher. I think it would probably be lower than other economically developed countries's footprint average. After observation, I think you still need to reduce you carbon footprint because the environment need us to protect. To help lower your foot print you could turn off lights after you leave room, open the widows to ventilate instead of AC, turn off the electrical after you use it base on your data the average of your home is you use the most which is you need to the most reduce. Recycling also is a good way. I think my suggestions will help you if you do it.
Hi Leandria, I am Hugo Liao from Guangzhou, China, I have to say that your carbon footprint is quite impressive, because my classmates' are generally higher than the average of China because we spent a lot on the column of transportation. I guess we should travel less and try to use public transportations as much as possible.
Hi Leandria, I am Frank tang from China. I think your carbon footprint is not too bad, well, at least it's lower then my carbon footprint. mine one is almost up to 16,000 Kg of carbon dioxide. I think the home one is a little bit higher as same as me, and that's ok, we can fixed it together, start at stop use too much air condition.(˚v˚)
