Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

my carbon footprint

naimeh

When i completed my carbon footprint calculation, i was very surprised to find out how much carbon my family puts out into he environment because of the amount we travel by car. The most energy consuming activity we do is taking my brother to all of his baseball practices and tournaments which are often 45 minutes away. Even though my parents cars are energy efficient, the amount of driving done is still harmful to the earth. I will talk to my parents about finding more carpooling  opportunities for my brother to things like practices where it is not necessary for my parents to be there so my family can do our part to try to reduce the carbon we put out.

Hi. I am totally agree with you about the cars that we use in our daily life put carbon into the environment. Although I usually choose public transportation during weekend( since I am in a boarding school ), I still use a lot of carbon in transportation due to it takes me an-hour  to get to my school by school bus. In order to reduce( or control) some of it, I will choose a more low-carbon transportation next year.:P
