Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Hi, my name is Jimmy. My carbon footprint is totally above the average carbon used in China. My carbon footprint is 35044 kg per year, in contrast, the average foot print in China is 2338 kg per year. Every part of my carbon footprint is similar to the average except for the transportation part. The reason why my transportation part has the highest carbon footprint is because I traveled a lot in the past. I used to travel abroad and that makes my footprint so high. To be more sustainable, may be I should cut down some of my trips or just travel nearby.
My carbon footprint also increased a lot because of the traveling I have done recently. My transportation alone was 10,220 kgs. I have family in different parts of the United States and go to visit them often by car and sometimes by plane. I also think that I should cut down on the number of trips I take throughout the year to decrease my overall footprint because it adds up fast as you know.
The largest part in my footprint was also my transportation, which was 7,638 kgs. I travel back and forth to school, practice and competitions which makes up most of my travel. You could also think about different methods of travel, like public transportation or walking/biking. You obviously couldn't use those methods to travel abroad, but you could for your every day travel to cut down on your transportation footprint a little bit.
