Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Transportation
Many people do not realize that by using your car to get somewhere you could easily walk or ride your bike to get to is wasting a ton of energy. They also do not realize that driving your car to school everyday when there are probably several people in your neighborhood you could carpool with is another really big way of wasting energy. Every gallon of gasoline saved avoids 22 gallons of carbon dioxide emissions. ( http://www.ecomall.com/greenshopping/20things.htm ) That's a lot less energy wasted and it is great for the environment. Also, next time you go to buy a car, pay attention to the mileage. You want a car with very good mileage. If your car happens to go 40 miles per hour instead of 25, and you drive 10,000 miles per year, the amount of carbon dioxide you waste will be reduced by 3,300 pounds each year. http://www.ecomall.com/greenshopping/20things.htm
