Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Changing lights
Simply just switching from incandescent to fluorescent or LED light bulbs can save 150 pounds or more carbon dioxide per year. Incandescent light bulbs use up the greatest amount of energy in the shortest period of time, while fluorescent and LED light bulbs use the least amount of energy and last longer. Last year i did a science experiment comparing the three types of light bulbs. The LED light bulb lasted 2 weeks while the incandescent lasted 1 hour. They were powered by the same amount of energy, and sometimes the incandescent bulb wouldn't even turn on because it needed a certain amount of energy to fully turn on. This experiment showed that LED is the way to go because it conserves the greatest amount of energy.
Yes because we need to low the luminate pollution
My father has been on a mission to change all of the light bulbs in my house from incandescent to flourescent/LED as they die for several years now. I can tell it's made a difference, they don't die nearly as quickly now. This has saved us both money and lightbulbs, and I know it's made an impact.
