Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Now I eat less

davidsotoa2015

Before this test I thought my footprint would be similar to the average number of people in my country, because I think if I have some ecological habits, even if not very developed, like throwing trash in her place, walk a lot instead of going by car, sometimes recycle and conserve water and electricity. But when I auditioned I realized that my footprint increased by eating a lot of calories. So I decided not to eat too much food, but just enough. So I can help the planet with less waste of packaging, less water for washing dishes and less weight on my body because fails to consume 3000 calories to consume only 1500 calories. 7000 calories increase 1 kilo in body mass, so I now It would take me about 5 days to build up a kilo (which would eliminate it with exercise) compared with 2½ days before I took on increasing the kilo (which would eliminate more difficult exercise at the time). It's a great action to improve my health and help to the environment.
