Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Daily Transportation

Wingtsubasa

I always take the publics transportations to get to the school or somewhere else. Actually the school is not so far from my home (2.5 km) and I also could go by bicycle or on foot. But as I'm always running late in the morning, taking the bus saves me a couple of minutes. However when school is finish in the afternoon sometimes I walk home (about 2 times a week).
I now that a little effort can make a change in my carbon footprint, but taking the bus in the morning is a thing that I can't give up.
Do you also have something that you can't live without? If yes, what is it?

I think that the idea of walking home at least in the afternoon, instead of taking a car or the bus, could be good for your health too, if you aren't a really sportive person, I admit that I am guilty of being too lazy. You could try to do that!
I though I couldn't escape my habit of using a car during the weekend, but I downloaded the bus schedules and now am travelling much more ecologically! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, sorry for my poor english.

Hi Eleonora, thank you for your interesting comment and for sharing your thoughts with me. I think that with a little effort such as going on foot or traveling by publics transportation we can make a little differences.
