Don't use planes to travel
Hi, my name is Qemal and i am from Switzerland, By doing the Carbon foorprint challenge calculator i noticed that a lot of people currently use the plane to travel for holiday or even for work. I rarely use the airplane, so that is why maybe my carboon footprint result was really low by comparing with the medium result of my country. I think that using the bus or the car is less polluting. And you how do you travel?

I realized that my footprint is very high as once a year I visit my relatives in Asia and there isn't other way to get there. My family and I, we're trying to use the public transportation to travel for short distances.

I think that what you have just said is right but many people can`t use the bus or the car for go on holidays. For example many of my friends have their parents in another country. But there are so many people that use the airplane for go on holidays even if the destination is near and it might reach by car or by bus. A few days ago I read an article that say that the demand for air travel has increased three-fold between 1980 and 2000, and is set to double by 2020. The expansion raises growing concerns due to its impact on the environment - air transport is one of the world's fastest growing sources of greenhouse gases.
